We had really been looking forward to today. The Lake Mohawk Ski Show and Fireworks are today. Between the ski show and the fireworks, Laurie and Eric are having a party at their house. But before the fun, David and I drove up to Canton to work out. On the way to Anytime Fitness we stopped at a park to do our Yoga stretching. It was a beautiful day and a gorgeous park! And to all of you naysayers out there, yes, I did Yoga too -- but someone had to take the pictures!!!
After working out we picked up ice for the party and headed back to the lake. When we got there the "group" was already set up at the beach for the show. We threw the ice in the coolers, loaded the drinks, and then raced to the beach. Laurie had set up chairs for all of us and Eric was the MC for the show (and also one of the skiiers). It was so much fun to sit in the sun with Jill and Mike and Julie and Dan and two of their girls and my friend, Dianna, and so many more people! Here are some pictures. Our great niece, Vanessa, was in the ski show with her Dad and our great nieces, Lily and Irene, were there to watch the show.
The ski show was fantastic and the crowd was loud and enthusiastic. I wish I had more pictures.
We all went back to Laurie and Eric's and there was a feast set out. Hamburgers, hot dogs, dips, deviled eggs, brownies, pasta salad . . . you get the picture. It was fantastic! Vanessa dressed up Jessie for the occasion. Isn't she a doll?
Laurie and Eric's friends across the lake invited us all over to watch the fireworks from their gazebo. The house sits up high and the chairs in the gazebo gave us perfect views of the fireworks. It's hard to get good pictures of fireworks but I tried. The first picture is of the boats on the lake set up to watch the fireworks.
After the fireworks Eric gave us a boat ride back to his house and all the other people left to go home. It was such a beautiful night and there were still other fireworks going on around the lake so Laurie started a fire in the firepit and the four of us lounged around talking. It was the perfect ending to the perfect day!
