The Airbnb was very nice and we slept well. It was well stocked so we were able to have coffee and tea before heading out. We decided it was a work out day so off to Anytime Fitness we went. There are two facilities in Franklin and the one we picked was wonderful. Nicely laid out and the equipment was not too close together and was very clean. Probably the best one we've been to yet.
We had a good workout and then, on the way to the car, I spotted "Popcorn Village." Now who would open that store right next door to a gym??? Smart people I guess because I walked right in and bought a small bag of dark chocolate, sea salt popcorn! David bought boring white cheddar popcorn. It will be our treat tonight.
We then headed out of town towards Kentucky and Illinois. We had hoped to stop in Nashville to check it out but the exits to downtown were at a complete standstill for miles and we didn't want to fight our way through that traffic. It looks like a very cool city and we will be back to check it out. I've been reading about some of the neighborhoods just outside of Nashville -- by Vanderbilt University, etc. -- and I think there might be some good, walkable areas there. Never hurts to look!
Don't have much to say about today. It was an easy driving day. We stopped in Marion, IL for an early dinner at a local cafe there and then drove on to Mount Vernon, IL and checked into our hotel. We showered and are relaxing in bed, both of us on our laptops. David's reading news and I'm, of course, looking at FB and blogging. Maybe I'll have more exciting things to write about tomorrow.
Goodnight!
