Morning came way too quickly today!  We forced ourselves to get up and moving because we had a ton of things to accomplish today.  First off we had to empty out our home (the car) and re-pack it so it was a little more efficient.  Next up -- dental appointments for both of us for check ups and cleanings.  I dropped David off in Belmont and I went to Charlotte.  Luckily that didn't take long.

Then at 10:00 we had an appointment for a tour of Covenant Village, a continuing care community we are interested in.  I have to say we are VERY impressed with the facility and what they offer.  Our friend and ex-neighbor, Becky Waters, toured the facility before we did and commented that she was ready to move in there now!  We totally understand why she feels that way.  It is beautiful and well run and just what we want when we get really old.  Like 100.  We did apply and met with a man named Russ and we quickly found out he too was a retired federal employee.  He had been a U.S. Probation Officer spending his entire career working on the streets.  That meant we had lots in common and really enjoyed tallking to him.  We paid our application fee and it is very comforting to know we will have a nice place to live when we need it.  Plus we know at least 10 other people around our age who are also planning to move there so think how much fun that will be!

After the tour we had a little time before our next appointment so David dropped me off to have a manicure/pedicure (important stuff) and he went off and did errands -- shopping at Walmart for essentials and getting the car washed.

At 3:00 we met with our attorney to sign our updated wills.  Our attorney is such a nice man that we sat and talked to him for two hours BEFORE we turned our attention to the wills.  It was a great visit and it felt good to get that accomplished before we set out on our long driving trip.

Our next stop was Sevierville, TN, to spend some time with our adopted brother, Johnny Ray, at his log cabin in the woods.  The first part of the drive was beautiful with a lot of it on the Blue Ridge Parkway.  We got such a late start, tho, that the end of the drive was in total darkness and a little tricky on the winding mountain roads.  But we arrived safe and sound and were very happy to see Johnny Ray.  We were very tired since we had so little sleep the night before so we just visited for a little while before we fell into bed.

Lots of administrative things to get caught up on tomorrow!
