Our plan for today was to do the laundry and go through our belongings, again, to see what we could leave behind. We just felt like we were dragging too much stuff with us. We were very successful and lightened our load considerably.
Later in the day we drove over to Anytime Fitness in Sevierville and worked out. It was a smaller gym, but the equipment was fine and there were a lot of people there working out. We did our normal routine and then did 45 minutes on the elliptical trainer. Here are a couple of managers we met there.
We wanted an extra good work out because afterwards we were going to have dinner at a really good restaurant called Applewood Farmhouse Restaurant. It was good home-cooking and how can any meal that begins with apple fritters be bad??? We managed to show some restraint and didn't order dessert!
When we drove into the restaurant we noticed an Orvis store next door. Johnny Ray had never been to one and David likes their clothes so we stopped there before we went home. They were having a sale which is always nice and Johnny bought a pair of pants and two shirts! Now he's an Orvis convert.
When we got home we found a notice in the mail that we needed to renew our car registration before September 30th. We didn't plan to be back in NC before then so we had to figure out what to do. We decided we would just send in the registration renewal with a check and when the sticker was mailed back, Johnny would send it to us in Portland. But something made me read the notice closer and I saw that first we had to have the car inspected for safety and emissions. I had forgotten all about that! Johnny googled the closest NC DMV and found one in Sylva, NC, which was about 65 miles away. We decided to would get up early the next morning, drive to Sylva and get the car inspected. It would be a field trip!!!
Good night all.
