Well, I took a break from blogging . . . I’m back now!  We arrived in Portland on August 8th and had an absolute ball.  I did post frequently on Facebook so most of you know what we were up to. We stayed with our friends (we consider family) Jolie, Lynn, Max and Nico.  I have known Jolie and Lynn since before their sons were born and Max is 26 and Nico is 22!

This is Nico.  Yes, David and I had just rolled out of bed but wanted to get these pictures before Nico left for work.

This is Max.  He was on his way to a job interview so we didn’t want to hold him up too much.

Jolie is a Federal Magistrate Judge currently sitting in Eugene but she will soon be back in Portland full time.  About the time Jolie moves back to Portland, Lynn will be retiring from her position as a senior staff attorney at the federal court in Portland.  Big, fun changes in store for them.

I cannot leave out the rest of the family:  Delilah, Goose and Bella.  

We left Portland around 2:00 p.m. and arrived in Eugene just in time to meet Jolie at the courthouse and see her chambers and courtroom.  It is a gorgeous courthouse!  We left there and went to her beautiful, temporary home in Eugene.  We love it and it would be a perfect retirement home for David and me but . . . .  We then walked over to a fancy market and had a salad bar dinner (and maybe a dessert).  It was great to have a final visit with Jolie before moving on.
